In an endeavor to journey with underserved sectors of our economy, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) and NBS have firmed up to launch another SME-centric business loan facility aimed at financially capacitating Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This strategic partnership underscores our commitment together with our Apex Shareholder-NSSA to not only meet the banking needs of SMEs but also to foster inclusive economic growth efficiency across Zimbabwe’s vibrant business landscape by serving the underserved markets and informal sector.
As we embark on this transformative initiative, the NBS and NSSA collaboration is set to significantly enhance market access for SMEs, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the National GDP. The SME Bulk Loan Fund has been strategically provided for with a mandate to empower SMEs, in their large numbers with small to medium capital loans.
NBS intends to play a pivotal role in this initiative, granting SMEs the opportunity to leverage the comprehensive benefits offered by the NSSA-NBS ecosystem. This synergy will not only provide much needed funding but also encompass critical 360 financial support services such as financial literacy training, business opportunities and access to a network of beneficial value chain partners. We believe that a robust financial foundation is essential, but what is equally important in going Beyond is cultivating an environment where SMEs can thrive and innovate seamlessly.
“Our goal is ambitious yet achievable to financially empower 1,500 SMEs by the end of this year. This initiative is open to all NSSA registered SMEs, whether they are just starting out, in the growth phase, or seeking to transition into fully-fledged corporate entities. By facilitating the flow of capital and encouraging collaboration among SMEs and value chain partners, we are paving the way for dynamic investment opportunities and sustainable business practices. I would encourage non NSSA registered SMEs to regularise thier registration with NSSA and other regulators so that they can be incorporated into the formal streams of business for the purposes of accessing opportunities” – Said Mildret Kujinga (NBS Head of Marketing)
It is exciting times ahead for entrepreneurs as we have witnessed them visiting our Business Banking offices at 34 Clairwood Road Alexandra Park to open accounts in anticipation to take on this journey of being empowered by NBS and NSSA.
Join us in this exciting venture as we work together to Bank, Build & goBeyond with SME’s.
