Purpose of the role
SCOPE OF JOB
The Sales Consultant is responsible for the implementation and execution of the Branch Sales plan
through acquiring business outside of the traditional branch network and meeting financial targets.
To drive branch sales, attend to customer enquiries and provide excellent customer service in line
with the business unit objectives.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
• Ensure business growth through aggressive customer acquisition in line with set targets.
• Identify and apply different sales techniques for different customer segments.
• Engage customers to ascertain products or services needed by the customer and ensure they
make informed choices by explaining process, disclosures, terms and conditions and
requirements attached to their choice of product.
• Supply data for input into reports and tracking tools relating to pending sales.
• Utilize tracking tools to measure progress against targets.
• Provide world class service to internal, potential and external clients by delivering on
requirements within operational processes and procedures.
• Build lasting relationships with customers by responding to issues raised through feedback to
customers and displaying desired behaviours accordingly;
• Ensure good customer experience by understanding, adhering and implementation of SLAs
with the involvement of relevant stakeholders.
• Take ownership and ensure complaints are resolved or escalated within the recommended
guideline;
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum degree in Business Studies, Marketing or equivalent.
• Member of a related professional body.
• 3 years’ experience, 2 years of which should have been in a sales /customer service role in
the Banking and Financial services sector;
• Strong computer proficiency; including MS Excel.
• Strong sales prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
• Must be good at building relationships.
• Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a good knowledge of effective selling techniques, competitor analysis, service
quality standards;
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure, and clean Class 4 Drivers License a must.
